Rakhi Savant was born to a Marathi Hindu family in Mumbai. Her father is an Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) with the Mumbai Police. She has a brother, Rakesh and a sister, Jaya. Rakhi studied in Goklibai School, Vile Parle and later studied Arts at Mithibai College.

Rakhi got an offer from the director of the film joru ka ghulam Suneel_Darshan for an item no. She have immense faith in God and she is spiritual too. She tries to follow all the tradition belings to the savant family.
If Rakhi savant is depressed, she do not like to talk to anyone even her parents or friends, instead she go to a church or a temple which relaxes her immediately. She seems to be happy in her life and love to be an Item girl.

Sawant has attracted a great deal of attention by appearing on stage and screen in very skimpy outfits. While this has increased her popularity, it has caused her to face flak from many quarters. She has been in contraveries always recently there was a problem between Pop Singer Mica and Rakhi savant due to the kiss which Mica has taken as birthday gift from Rakhi.
